This beautiful medium-sized corn with blue, purple, and lilac hues was given to us a few years ago by an acquaintance who brought the seeds from Guatemala and reproduced them on her farm in San Ramón de Alajuela. We have been reproducing it for about 3 generations on one of our producing farms, seeking to adapt it to the conditions of our country. It is a fairly productive variety, it can be consumed fresh or also dried for masa or flour, chicha, mazamorra, etc. Its purple color indicates that it contains many anthocyanins, which have antioxidant properties that benefit health.
