50-Cell Square Plug Flat Insert

The 50-Cell Square Plug Flat Insert is a 50-cell square germination tray that fits inside standard 10 in x 20 in trays. It is used to start seeds and root cuttings with each seedling in its own space, so that the roots do not intertwine and transplanting is clean. With 50 cells per tray, you have more substrate volume per plant than in 72 or 128-cell formats.

How to use

Fill each cell with moistened substrate and place one seed or one cutting per cell. Place the insert inside a propagation tray, cover it with a humidity dome, and if you have a heating mat, add bottom heat to accelerate germination. Water from below by adding water to the tray and keep the substrate moist without waterlogging.

Instructions for use

• Fill each cell with moistened propagation substrate, such as perlite, coco coir, or rock wool
• Sow one seed or place one cutting per cell
• Place it in a humidity dome on a propagation tray with bottom heat for best germination results
• Keep the substrate moist but not waterlogged — water from below by adding water to the tray
• Clean with diluted hydrogen peroxide between cycles and let dry completely before storing
