Grodan rockwool is made from molten rock spun into cotton candy-like fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs. While other rockwool brands cut all sizes from the same batch of wool, Grodan is unique because it manufactures different fiber types. The purpose is to meet the plant's needs at each stage of development. Grodan has an enormous capacity to absorb nutrient solution while retaining abundant oxygen for rapid growth. Grodan comes in graduated sizes. Seedlings started in cubes are easily moved to blocks and then to slabs, if desired. Seedlings or cuttings started in Grodan cubes can also be transplanted into more traditional pots and substrates.

Grodan Blocks - Grodan Delta blocks are the most uniform blocks available on the market. They feature improved grooves at the base for better drainage. They are available in a wide assortment of sizes and configurations to suit all types of plants. These growing blocks are used for direct seeding or for "blocking on" plants raised in Macro and Multiblock. The AO 36/40 plugs fit well into the holes provided in the blocks. The blocks can then be placed on a slab for a larger growing volume. Hugo is the largest of the growing blocks. It provides enough growing volume to support a large plant, so it does not need to be placed on a slab.

How to use

• Soak in pH-adjusted water (5.5–6.0) for 1 hour before placing transplant
• Place rooted propagation plug in the pre-cut center hole
• Water with nutrient solution at low EC (0.5–1.5 mS/cm) during initial root development
• Transplant the entire block into a larger Grodan slab or pot when roots reach the edges of the block
• Do not reuse rockwool — dispose of it through appropriate channels at the end of the cycle
