CAP Fitting Washer (FIT-016/017/018)

The C.A.P. Fitting Washer is the replacement sealing washer for FIT-016, FIT-017, and FIT-018 connectors. It is mounted between the fitting body and the wall of the tank, reservoir, or tray, and is the part that prevents water from leaking through the perforation.

How to use

Empty the reservoir below the level of the fitting and loosen the connector nut. Remove the old washer, thoroughly clean the contact surface, and place the new one with the flat side against the tank wall. Hand-tighten firmly, without overtightening, refill, and check for leaks.

Instructions for use

• Cut off the supply and depressurize the line before disassembling the connection.
• Remove the old washer and clean the seat: any residue will prevent the new one from sealing properly.
• Place the flat washer centered in its housing, without bending or stretching it.
• Hand-tighten the connection and adjust only as necessary; excessive torque deforms the washer and ultimately causes leaks.
• Restore the supply and check the joint during the first few minutes to confirm that there are no leaks or pressure loss.
• Keep a couple of spare parts on hand and store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
